Key Stage 3:
Year 7 – History skills; Romans; Medieval Realms; The Tudors; Native American Indians
Year 8 – The Stuarts; Enemies of the State, 1600-1800; Slavery and Human Rights; Dying for the Vote; The British Empire; Britain 1750-1900; Hull at War 1914-1945.
Key Stage 4 / GCSE History:
Edexcel Modern World History (Syllabus B).
This is a modular course. Students are entered for Papers 2 and 3 at the end of Year 10.
• International Relations 1919-69 (Paper 1)
• USA 1919-41 (Paper 2)
• Britain 1903-1928 (Paper 3)
• The Vietnam War (Controlled Assessment)
Key Stage 5 / AS and A-level (Year 12-13)
Edexcel AS GCE History (8HI01)
Unit 1 is taken in January and Unit 2 in June
Unit 1 – Option C:
• Relations with the American colonies and the War of Independence, c1740-89
• The Slave Trade, Slavery and the Anti-Slavery campaigns, c1760-1833
Unit 2 – Option C:
• The Experience of Warfare in Britain: Crimea, Boer and First World War, 1854-1929
Edexcel A2 GCE History (9HI01)
Coursework is completed by Easter. Unit 3 is taken in June.
